Exclusive Memory Chapter 7 Part 2
Once I finally couldn't resist lovesickness and dared to dial his number. When I was anxiously thinking about what to say in my opening remarks, I realized that what greeted me on the other end was the notification sound of the user turning off the phone.
After trying a few more times, I heard the same reply. So, gradually, the matter of dialing his phone was used as a tool to pass the time when I was bored.
In late June, the city suddenly felt like a three-volt day, and it was said that the air conditioners in the whole city were out of stock.
On Friday afternoon, a heavy rain finally came. The rain fell from about six o'clock until midnight, and finally some of the heat dissipated.
When I got up the next day, I stood on the balcony and breathed in the cool air, immediately felt refreshed, and then went to the bathroom.
As soon as I squatted down, I found that the mobile phone was in my trouser pocket, so I took it out and played with it in my hand.
Then, I opened the call log, saw Mu Chenghe's name, and dialed it casually. Unexpectedly, the usual shutdown reminder did not appear, and it was replaced by a rhythmic ringing sound.
My mind was stunned, and before I could make the next response, the phone was connected.
"Hey—" Mu Chenghe said.
So, I finally heard the voice that had disappeared in my world for nearly three months.
In the past three months, I have rehearsed countless times in my mind. If the phone suddenly connects, how should I word it without being abrupt. I guessed a lot, but I didn't expect such a scene in the end-I was squatting in the toilet with a mobile phone in my hand, and then Mu Chenghe on the other end spoke.
"Uh——" I made a vague sound, only to feel that the weather suddenly became hot again, and my forehead was dripping with sweat.
"Is it Xue Tong?" Mu Chenghe asked.
"Well. It's me, Teacher Mu."
"Long time no see," he said, "I went on a business trip some time ago, and I didn't expect to receive your call as soon as I came back."
"Hey." I giggled.
"Where are you?"
"I..." I could only lie, "I'm in the classroom."
As I got up to answer him, I lifted my pants with one hand, and then turned around and pressed the water to complete this series of actions habitually, only to realize that the next sound would be fully felt by him, and I was definitely not in the classroom.
A second later, the tank irretrievably "rattled -" and made a loud sound of water ...
I coughed twice in embarrassment, and then changed the subject.
"Uh—the weather is quite cool today, since you just came back, let me catch the wind for you." (she means to treat him to a meal)
"How are you going to treat me?" He asked me with a smile in his tone.
"You were the one who invited me before, and I should have invited you. But I haven't started making money yet, so please continue to invite me." I said cheekily.
"Okay." Mu Chenghe laughed.
We met at twelve o'clock on the west side of the town square.
Because the school bus going into the city broke down halfway, I waited on the road until the second bus to get on, so I was 20 minutes late.
When I hurried to my destination, I saw Mu Chenghe under the shade of the trees over there.
He sat on the edge of the flower platform, his slender legs folded at exactly ninety degrees, and he wore a very ordinary white short-sleeved T-shirt. The corners of his mouth were slightly raised, and he was listening to a boy three meters away playing erhu in front of him.
That boy, I used to see him often near this square. His family seemed to be in financial difficulty, so he set up a small stall selling art, trying to scrape together some living expenses and tuition fees. The boy's erhu is very good, and he can turn some well-known pop songs into erhu solo, and often makes people stop and listen.
But today, probably because it was noon, the only audience was Mu Chenghe.
I secretly walked around behind Mu Chenghe, and then called, "Teacher Mu." ”
He looked back, saw me, and smiled.
The first time Mu Chenghe came to substitute for us was in the autumn, and the last time I saw him was on the first day of the new year. So I've never seen him look like in summer. Unexpectedly, it was a pair of jeans, a T-shirt, very simple dress, not at all the appearance of a scholar, but like a student.
His hair was cut shorter than usual, exposing the light skin behind his ears.
He also appears to be thinner than before.
Mu Chenghe drove the car and found a Chinese restaurant he was familiar with in the city.
At this moment, it was already noon, and the heat that had disappeared because of yesterday's heavy rain swept in again. When I opened the door and got out of the car, the bright scorching sun and the heat wave hit, Mu Chenghe's brows frowned, and then he took me quickly through the parking lot to the cold air of the restaurant.
"You're afraid of heat?" After sitting down, I couldn't help but ask.
"It's fine." He said with a hard mouth.
But the fine sweat that came out of the tip of his nose betrayed him.
I couldn't help but secretly amuse, I didn't expect him to be such a person who was afraid of heat.
Immediately, I remembered that he had been waiting for me outside for nearly half an hour just now, and said with some annoyance: "Then why didn't you find a cool place when you were waiting for me just now."
“I can listen to the erhu for a while.”
"Are you interested in erhu?"
"I'm interested in all the good things in the world." He laughed.
At this moment, Mu Chenghe's mobile phone rang.
He picked up and exchanged pleasantries, probably because the other party asked him what he was doing.
He said: "Dining outside. Come and eat together. And your class's Xue Tong."
When I heard this sentence, my heart creaked, and I immediately guessed who the person on the phone was.
Mu Chenghe put away his phone and said, "It's your Teacher Chen, he'll be here in a while."
"Yeah." I nodded unnaturally.
A quarter of an hour later, Chen Ting appeared.
A good meal turned into a three-person conversation.
I was really disappointed. After eating, they wanted to take me back to school, and I insisted on riding in the car by myself. Mu Chenghe watched me get on the bus and turned around to leave with Chen Ting.
I looked at his back, and in addition to frustration, there was an indescribable feeling.
I always thought that even with sympathy for me, at least in his eyes, I must be different from others. That's it. The advantage in my heart allows me to appear in front of him again and again with a thick skin. I found out that he really cared about me. However, every time I took a step further, he would take a step back and invisibly erect a wall between us.
Like today, doesn't he know that I miss him so much and have so many things I want to say to him? But he let a third person appear between us.
